Mark Stott : Concrete : 2017
Mark Stott : Concrete : 2017

From a young age the loveable local legend, Mark Stott collected and amassed rare records and began DJing at Northern Soul all-nighters. In the footsteps of his dad, Keith Minshull, the Northern Soul kingspinner who played six-hour sets packed full of seven-inch singles at the world-famous Golden Torch in Tunstall, Blackpool Mecca and Wigan Casino in the 1970s, Mark was born into the world of up-tempo soul music. Yet his taste for music, by no means ends there. Mark is a self-confessed product of the Madchester music scene, having revelled for hours to the sounds of the Stone Roses, and Old Skool, house and rave music. A 90s teenager, Mark made it to the Hacienda in its hay-day and brings all of the colourful influences of northern dance music and its history to his playlists today.
Always found with a cheeky smile on his face, Mark brings a selection of some of his all-time favourite Northern Soul and Motown records and is honoured to play the opening set at Concrete, Alsager Music Festival.
